Despite the importance of the Meadow as a historic asset and as a site for visitors and wildlife, it has never had a dedicated endowment fund for its support. Until now.
Thanks to a generous opening gift from Peter Paine Jr (1957), a new fund is being launched in the name of Very Reverend Dr Christopher Lewis, former Dean of Christ Church. The name of the fund recognises Christopher’s enormous service to Christ Church and particularly his role in championing the conservation of Christ Church Meadow including the re-introduction of the longhorns. The Christopher Lewis Fund for the management and enhancement of Christ Church Meadow will provide valuable support for the Meadow for future generations.
