An intimate alumni gathering took place at the Mandarin Oriental bar in Hong Kong this February, celebrating Christ Church’s 500th anniversary and marking the House’s first visit to Hong Kong since the pandemic.
Alumni spanning decades mingled over wine and canapés, reminiscing about our time at Christ Church, reliving cherished traditions, and hearing updates about our former tutors. It was a great pleasure to meet The Very Revd Professor Sarah Foot, along with Olivia Tan and Philippa Roberts from the Christ Church Development Office, who shared updates about the House’s latest initiatives. A particular highlight for me was learning about the new entrepreneurship centre at 37 St Giles, a testament to Christ Church’s commitment to innovation and nurturing future leaders.
The evening beautifully balanced a celebration of Christ Church’s rich history with an optimistic look toward its future. It was an honour to be part of such a special occasion, and I left feeling deeply proud to be a Christ Church Member. Here’s to the next 500 years!
