Jasper and his wife, Megan, had spent 12 years building businesses and social enterprises in India. They built two major restaurant chains – Wendy's and Jamie's – setting up 75 sites in 15 cities. Jasper writes and comments on India and hosts two shows on Indian network TV. They are the fourth generation of their family to live and work in India since Independence
The family are involved in a range of India NGOs. Jasper is a Trustee of Future Hope who support the most vulnerable children in Kolkata through schools and sports. Megan works with a range of charities in Delhi and her family founded Taktse School in Sikkim. During the lockdown, the Reids fed and helped a million people in New Delhi and bused thousands of migrant workers home.
Jasper is also working with the FCDO and others on an intern scheme to encourage British graduates in their twenties to live and work in India. House members can contact Jasper via the Development Office if this is of interest.
