On Friday 23 May, we had a reunion of Christ Church alumni in Zurich. Next to the scenic lake and mountains we got to know one another over dinner. All working in interesting fields, from consulting over international relations research, to tech and insurance. It was a pleasure to have deep intellectual conversations as is custom over dinner in Oxford and as our alumni prove they can have anywhere in the world. Dinner topics included how to model macro economical risks, what has the most impact for people to live healthier lives, how AI is having an impact on social media, what it means to research violent conflict in Myanmar and how hermit crabs build “vacancy chains” where they trade shells until they find one which fits their size. When you get together with fellow Members, there is always something new to be learned! It was an absolute pleasure and we of course also raised a glass to the 500 year anniversary of Christ Church!
