With one brief shower, the weather was lovely, the wasps were plentiful – as was the food and wine, writes Dr Craig-McFeely (1976, Physiological sciences). Michael Hughes (known as "Max") (1969, Philiosophy) gave the House grace in Latin and English. Michael is a Deacon of the catholic church and married two of the hosts' daughters. David Webster (1956, English), as the senior Houseman present (and a retired judge) toasted the House. Eighteen guests (aged from five to rather more) sat down to a buffet lunch that meandered through the afternoon until the final guests left, having taken down the tents and restored the garden furniture to their normal locations, by 6pm.  It was decided that we should celebrate the 501st anniversary at a similar event, especially as two potential alumni were unable to attend due to family committments or Covid-19.

If you are an alumnus, and live near Pyt House in south west Wiltshire, please contact the Development Office to link up with this local group of alumni.
