Over the years, several Old Members have travelled east to make Cambridge their home. On Tuesday 5 May, we were given the opportunity to meet one another during an Alumni drinks at Grape Britannia. We were treated to a selection of excellent British wines, cheeses and terrines by our hosts, Hena McGhee and Jennifer Burton from the Development Office.
The evening provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere perfectly suited to renewing and creating friendships from the House. Conversation sparkled like the wine as we enjoyed hearing stories from Members’ time at Christ Church and their lives in Cambridge. Unsurprisingly, people had made their lives in Cambridge for a variety of reasons, some professors at the University, others having settled here to retire and many taking advantage of the booming Technology and Life Sciences sectors. It was fascinating to uncover the breadth and depth of the network connecting us.
Thanks again to Hena, Jennifer (and all in the Development Office) for organising the event – hopefully one of many events to come.
