Il Regno del Male & The Shadow of Knowledge ('The Kingdom of Evil & The Shadow of Knowledge') is a work in two movements. In the first part, the poet explores Evil as a force manifested in power, conflict, human passions, and illusions. In the second, the focus shifts to knowledge: scientists, mathematicians, philosophers, rulers, and explorers become the protagonists of a meditation on truth, destiny, and the price of intellectual freedom.

Blending poetry, aphorism, philosophical essay, and historical narrative, Simonetti constructs a personal and provocative vision of the human condition, questioning the relationship between knowledge and power, faith and reason, the individual and society.

A collection of poetry and prose that, with a keen eye, delves into humanity’s greatness and contradictions, into that realm where the desire to understand the world encounters its deepest limits.
