Orpale de Saint-Gall 2008 It is 100% Chardonnay, sourced from la crème de la creme Grand Cru vineyards in Mesnil-sur-Oger, Cramant, Avize and Oger. It has spent 12 years gently maturing in bottle on fine lees, allowing it to gain layers of flavour and complexity during the tasting. It is a Brut style with only 7 grams of sugar per litre.
Château Calon-Ségur, the most northerly of all the Médoc Grand-Crus Classés, is the château with a heart on its label. That is because the former owner, Marquis de Ségur, though he owned such Estates as Lafite and Latour, he declared "My heart belongs to Calon"
Built in the 18th century, the Château La Tour Blanche is now home to the La Tour Blanche School of Viticulture and Oenology. Premier Grand Cru Classé of Sauternes in 1855, Château La Tour Blanche, which has been owned by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region since 2010, now has an educational vocation while continuing its history of making great Sauternes wines.
