Join the Dean, the Very Reverend Professor Sarah Foot, Junior Censor Professor Simon Dadson, and Development Director Philippa Roberts at our first international event in our 500th Anniversary year. This will take place at the Tanglin Club, Singapore on Monday 10 February 2025.
Prior to an international buffet dinner, you will hear from the Dean and Philippa about the plans for the next decade of the House, and Professor Dadson will give a lecture on Floods and Droughts in a Changing Climate.
This lecture will draw on recent advances in hydrological modelling to show how novel field and Earth observations can be combined with Earth system models to help assess the water cycle’s response to changing environmental pressures. The importance of an integrated approach to multiple, interacting environmental hazards will be emphasised. The lecture will conclude with some reflections on how insights from current science can best be mobilized in support of practical policy interventions to achieve society’s challenging net zero goals.
