The race, on Bank Holiday Monday, celebrated the anniversary of Sir Roger Bannister’s iconic mile on 6 May 1954. With registration in Christ Church Meadow, the Community Mile was one of a number of events which took place – including a series of mile races throughout the day ranging from U13 through to the U15, the U17 trophy races, and the elite men’s and women’s miles.
Teresa and Luke also ran the Community Race in 2024. This year, Luke won his heat as well as coming 8th overall in the under 15 category (which is an impressive achievement at 10 years old!).
