Parents of a first-year student share their reflections on a recent visit to the House:

"We kicked the day off by going on the garden tour, expertly guided by Custodian Patty, who was hugely knowledgeable about all things Christ Church. It was fascinating to see parts of the college which we would not normally get to visit and to learn so much about its rich history. We were particularly interested to discover that some of the features of Tom Quad were added by the Victorians in the late 19th Century, rather than being original!

We followed that up with lunch in the Great Hall which was a real treat. It is such an exceptional space and it was a privilege to be able to spend some time there with our son, chat to Amanda from the Events team, hear what has been going on at the College, and enjoy a delicious lunch.

We are very grateful to everyone who organised the day and look forward to our next opportunity to spend time at Christ Church."
