It has been a busy term for JCR sport, with many teams competing in cuppers competitions and taking part in our sports exchange with Trinity Cambridge. Our men’s football 1st team are on a successful league promotion campaign, while St Aldate’s FC (women’s conglomerated football team) are ever increasing in numbers and dominating the Oxford JCR women’s football scene.
Our netball teams are also seeing much success, with all three teams (two women’s and one mixed) beating Trinity Cambridge and our women’s 1’s climbing up division 1 after being promoted last term. Rugby continues their unbeaten streak this year, winning the first round of cuppers and still yet to come across a competitive side.
Finally, our racquet sports are building positive foundations. Our sports exchange has sparked enthusiasm in the JCR and a badminton club is in the works, while the squash team are seeing victories in cuppers fixtures. Overall JCR sport is on the up!
