Ashley Cluer debuted three large-scale sculptures in her exhibition: An Ode to Never Fitting In.

Designed to stand out, challenge expectations and powerfully make a difference to others, Cluer’s work sparks conversation; it visually attracts further inquiry asking for interaction. Cluer is utterly fascinated by the world, her need to understand is evident in her relentless experimentation, creation and physical manifestation of the impossible. Greatly inspired by the gargantuan works of Barbara Hepworth, Phyllida Barlow and Franz West. Cluer uses physicality to express intangible ideas and emotions. Her unique manipulation of overlooked, foundational materials results in her creation of sculptures that exist not because they should but because she wills them into being.

Ashley will also be showcasing the work at Flowers Gallery, on Cork Street, this November and at Bonhams Auction House, on Bond Street, in February 2025. Eventually the works will be permanently installed in The Canary Wharf Estate.
