The Old Boys batted first in the roaring heat and posted an imposing 248-7 off their 30 overs, with Eoin Simpkins top scoring with a sublime 83, ably supported with 43 from Angus Irving and 30 from Tom McCleery. Joseph Beckett and Tom Aubury were the pick of the bowlers for the current team, but a daunting chase was in prospect. The prospect didn't last long, however, as Tuppy Morrissey and Jamie Abbott combined for five wickets to bundle the current students out for 96, giving the Old Boys a comprehensive 152 run victory.
