The House |
Glorious sunshine and a majestic view of the river on the Barnes Bridge bend from the extensive White Hart balcony assured some 60 Christ Church alumni and friends a memorable afternoon, despite the outcomes not being quite as positive as we Dark Blues would have wished. A spacious and stylish room with a commanding aspect, with delicious canapes freshly-prepared by chefs in full view, and an excellent bar selection provided the setting for several hours of vocal support for the crews, as well as a chance to reminisce about times on the water and to meet friends old and new. Many decades of House Boaties were represented and all enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
This event must become a calendar fixture for the Boat Club. Thank you to all who organised it, and let's look forward to proper celebrations next year when Oxford will surely scoop victory as it is certainly time for the tide to turn!
